The Staff -ROBERT MILLER - (Morristown, NJ). Coach Miller is currently the Head Coach of the Exeter Freeze of the new Northeast Professional Hockey League. He retired last year from professional hockey after winning the league championship with the Knoxville Ice Bears of Southern Professional Hockey League in 2007. He then became the Assistant Coach for the Walpole Express Junior A Team of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League in Walpole, Mass. Coach Miller is a former Seton Hall Prep player winning All State, All Conference honors, All Parochial honors, All American and New England Sports Writers All Team award. He then played at New Hampshire College and then finished playing with Salem State College before becoming a professional player with Jacksonville Baracudas, Lakeville Loggers and Knoxville Ice Bears.
-JAY VARADY - (Chahokia, IL) Asst. Coach, Everett Silvertips, Western Hockey League Major-Juniors (part of the Canadian Hockey League) . Coach Varady coaches with the former Pittsburgh Penguins Head Coach, Kevin Constantine. Past coaching includes a National Championship with the Pittsburgh Forge Juniors and as an Asst. Coach with NCAA (Div I), Union College and the Midget AAA St. Louis Amateur Blues. Playing experience includes Midget AAA Chicago Young Americans, USHL Dubuque Saints (Team Capt.) and NCAA (Div I), Union College. -BRIAN BOVA - (North Andover, Mass.) NCAA (Div I), Assistant Coach, Saint Michaels University, Vermont, Div III. Formerly the UMASS Lowell Div I, Graduate Assistant Coach. Coach Bova was a three-year standout at the Northfield-Mount Hermon Prep School. Two-time selection to NEPSAA All-Scholastic Tournament as a junior and senior. Named to the NEPSAA All-New England First Line as a senior. Named NEPSAA Offensive Player of the Year. -ERIK CRAWFORD - (Stillwater, Minn.). Entered the Marines in 1984 and later entered Officer Training and was commissioned in the early 1990's as a Combat Engineer with the 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion on Okinawa, Japan and delpoyed 9 times throughout the Asia-Pacific Region. After leaving active duty in 1995, Erik served as Commanding Officer of a reserve detachment in Minneapolis, Minn. He was recalled to active duty in 2004 and served in Iraq. Erik currently works on armor technology with a passion for supporting of the personal saftey of our young men & women in uniform and is an avid youth Hockey Coach, Dad, Fan and Student with a desire to help young kids! A fantastic addition to our leadership staff! -MIKE CARRIS – (Syracuse, NY). Served with U.S. Marine Corps from 1987 to 1991 with the 10th Marine Regiment. Mike spent two months in Iraq during the first Gulf War and Operation Provide Comfort with Hotel 3/10, an Artillery Battery attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Upon returning home, he attended college and started a career in the Engineering and Land Surveying industries while serving with Hotel 3/14 (Marine Reserves) where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He started playing organized hockey from the age of four through High School. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, he was instrumental in organizing a Marine Corps Hockey League and was the goalie for the inaugural Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Hockey Team, and still plays in a Men’s league in Richmond, VA.
