Leadership – Respect – Intensity --

The entire concept of this training camp hinges on assigning a player into a LEADERSHIP and RESPONSIBILITY role that he is not used to and making him grow in a positive manner with supervision and instruction.  This all takes place while the students live and act as one in a training environment that will cause mental, physical and teamwork growth at any age.  This will then lead to a player who will realize his or her leadership potential and experience the true sense of “team".

My name is Major David C. Andersen, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.).  I have been playing and coaching hockey for my entire life and am a true fan of our youth as they are our future.  I truly believe that with a firm foundation in solid principles, our youth can accomplish  anything!

First, it must be said that this camp is appropriate for all ages!  Yes, even the young players!  We still push the leadership, life lessons and showing kids how to respect each other, but there is a large amount of "fun" thrown in there - just as with the older kids.  The kids have a great time and learn without even knowing it!

The leadership training is accomplished by many techniques, one of which is placing the athlete into billets.  These are positions where the player and their appointed staff (also players) will run the team/camp in all they do, using accountability, responsibility and tools taught to them on how to handle a role that stresses leadership by action.

This camp is all about the positive and uplifting support of our youth - which means that compassion and quality judgement is there in all we do!  There are NO negatives here at all and we tailor our approach to each age level and each group - we understand the responsibility that we have and take it to heart.  We have a true and total commitment to show our players that they can succeed in doing anything!  This education starts at any age  - let's give the game back to the kids!  This concept will build your child and will take the positive aspects of leadership and apply them to a sport our young people already participate in.  They learn by doing and do not even realize it!

The camp will also use a "hard-Corps" and extremely challenging on-ice skating technique program, on-ice team play situations (which are generally not focused on at other camps) and a physical fitness and dry land training program unlike any seen!  This will provide the athlete with the ability to make good decisions while under pressure.  With two 1.5 hour intense ice sessions followed by a one-hour scrimmage every day (total of 4 hours ice/day), the student will excel and grow - literally within one week.

Obviously, this is only a snapshot of BOOT CAMP HOCKEY, but these methods have produced some of the world's best leaders in the most strenuous of conditions - methods that have been used in my organization for over 231 years and that I have personally experienced for the past 21 years.

The change you will see in your player will be unbelievable if they come as an individual or as an entire team.
